Grand Master Y.S. Chung, founder of the American Taekwondo Foundation (ATF), is a pivotal figure in the promotion and development of Taekwondo in the United States. Born in South Korea, Chung began his martial arts journey at a young age, training under the guidance of esteemed masters. His dedication and skill facilitated his rise within the martial arts community, ultimately earning him high ranks in Taekwondo.

Chung immigrated to the United States in the late 20th century with a vision to spread the values and techniques of Taekwondo to a broader audience.
